Overview
Tanaka Farms is one of Southern California’s most recognized family-owned farms, known for its seasonal events, produce, and artist collaborations. I led the digital rebrand, transforming their Shopify site into a scalable, story-driven experience that reflects the farm’s warmth and community spirit.
Process & Build
Using Dawn as a foundation, I developed a custom Shopify theme centered on modular design and seasonal storytelling. I also handled product photography for the Glowny collaboration and inline merchandise, creating visual consistency across the new site.
Key features included:
Dynamic Header and Mega Menu: Responsive navigation with seasonal color logic, nested menu items, and promotional badges.
Custom Storytelling Sections: Flexible content blocks for highlighting collaborations and farm events.
Automated Product Drops: Shopify Flow logic for timed merchandise releases, including the Steven Harrington x Tanaka Farms capsule.
Enhanced UX and SEO: Streamlined product layouts, adaptive imagery, and optimized meta structure for long-term growth.
